Dexcom G7 Replacement Sensors Now Conveniently Available From Pharmacies Across Canada

Dexcom Canada is making it easier for Dexcom G7 users to obtain authorized replacement sensors, when and where it’s convenient for them. Users can now conveniently pick up replacement sensors at a pharmacy of their choice across Canada. The program enables pharmacies to support continuity of patient care and monitoring, and reimburses them for the sensor replacement service through an easy billing process.

Simple 3-Step Replacement Process 

If a Dexcom G7 user experiences a sensor issue and requests a replacement sensor from Dexcom Canada, they no longer need to wait for the shipment to arrive. They can save time by requesting a sensor replacement and picking it up at a local pharmacy right away. The replacement process has 3 easy steps:

  1. The Dexcom G7 user reports the sensor issue to the Dexcom Canada technical support team by visiting dexcom.com/en-ca/contact-us and clicking “Submit Support Request” or by calling 1-844-832-1810 (Option 3). 
     
  2. A NexgenRx sensor replacement voucher is emailed to them. The email includes all relevant information for the pharmacy, including billing instructions. 
     
  3. The voucher can be redeemed by the user for a replacement sensor at any pharmacy in Canada. It is recommended that users call their pharmacy in advance to confirm Dexcom G7 sensors are in stock.

When the pharmacy accepts and processes the voucher, they will be reimbursed for the replacement service. The service fee includes the Dexcom G7 sensor product plus a reasonable markup and dispensing fee, such that most users should not expect to pay any additional amount out-of-pocket.

Convenient and Beneficial for Pharmacies 

Dexcom G7 replacement sensors are easy for pharmacies* to bill in 3 simple steps:

  1. Add the NexgenRx Card information to the patient’s profile under third-party information. Make sure to enter the full Client ID as the certificate number, including any leading letters and dashes. 
     
  2. Process the G7 sensor replacement as a regular dispense with the standard PIN 97798972. Pharmacists in Quebec must use the AQPP-issued PIN 01111064. 
     
  3. Once processed, deactivate the NexgenRx single-use card on the patient’s profile. Each voucher is single-use only. 

*Shoppers Drug Mart & Loblaw grocery pharmacies must follow a modified claims billing process provided separately. Contact the Retail Specialty Support line at 1-855-611-4746 for assistance (8:00 AM – 8: 00 PM EST - Monday to Friday) for details.
